Farm owners’ plans to convert a garage on their site into a two-bedroom holiday cottage have been approved.

Jonathan Evans and his wife run Seedall Farm in Eaves Hall Lane, West Bradford, and want to promote the accommodation as a stay-on-the-farm holiday.

Guests at the newly approved accommodation will be encouraged to meet the animals on the farm, and it is described as a suitable location for those who enjoy countryside activities such as outdoor walking.

Income generated from the accommodation will also assist in the running of the farm.

The cottage will be self-catered and will have an outdoor area for relaxing.

The proposal says the accommodation is aimed at couples or small families with young children “wanting a break in a quiet, rural area.”

A design and access statement said: ““It is proposed to convert the new garage and store to a small, two-bed holiday cottage.

"A small sitting-out area is to be provided at the front of the building in the existing yard area.

“The applicants wish to promote the holiday accommodation as a stay-on-the-farm holiday where they will encourage visitors to meet the farm animals they keep.

“The income generated from the holiday accommodation will also assist in the running of the farm and management of the land.

“Mr and Mrs Evans both have extensive experience working with children and adults with learning disabilities and are passionate about ensuring their property and farm is inclusive and can meet their needs when on holiday.”

The accommodation will be available all year round.

Plans were submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council in January and were approved by the planning committee last week.

Work on converting the site must begin within the three-year expiration period.
