A hair salon owner is marking 20 years in business as she continues to thrive against the odds.
Andrea Driver, who owns the Hair Junction, is celebrating an impressive two decades since opening her doors in Brierfield.
Behind the 20-year milestone lies a rich history of entrepreneurship and dedication, and Andrea, originally from Burnley, brings not just two but nearly four decades of experience to the table. She previously owned a thriving hairdressing business on Branch Road in Burnley.
Reflecting on her journey, Andrea said: “I can't believe it's been 20 years - where has the time gone?
“I have never had to advertise, all my custom has come from word of mouth.
“We are a little community with many people being with me from the start and becoming close friends.
“It really is a hub, with people always bumping into each other if they haven't seen for years."
Hair Junction isn't merely a salon, clients say it is a haven where they find more than just a haircut.
Customer Sharon Plunkett said: "Having my hair done with Andrea is more than a hair appointment, it's like spending a couple of hours with friends.
“A coffee, laugh, and a chat are as important as my haircut.
“And in an era where the closure of small businesses has become all too common, it's essential to highlight success stories like Andrea’s.”
To mark the significant milestone, Andrea and her dedicated team, Helena, Tiffany, and Lee, invited friends and customers for a celebration of drinks, food, laughter and reminiscing, at the Sparrow Hawk in Fence.
When asked about her recipe for success, Andrea said: "Being a hairdresser is more than just cutting and colouring hair, it's having time to listen.
“We always say we are like counsellors as well as hairdressers. We love making people feel good about themselves."
As Hair Junction looks ahead to the next 20 years, Andrea and her staff extend heartfelt gratitude to loyal customers, whose support has been the cornerstone of the business’s success.
