Police are searching for a missing man who was last seen leaving Royal Blackburn Hospital.

UPDATE: Police confirmed on Saturday evening that missing Alan has been found safe and well

The man, Alan Lee, is missing from his home and was last seen leaving Royal Blackburn Hospital at 9pm on Thursday (March 14).

Alan is around 5ft 11in, with neck-length grey hair.

He is also unshaven and when he was last seen, he was wearing a black jacket, a black jumper and black trousers.

Police are now becoming concerned for Alan's welfare and say he has links to Nelson and Colne.

He is known to visit Nelson town centre and has some associates in Brierfield.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of 57-year-old Alan, who is missing from his home in Brierfield.

"We have a CCTV still of Alan leaving the hospital, and whilst we appreciate it isn’t of the highest quality, it shows Alan wearing the clothes he was last seen in.

"Do not approach Alan but call 999 for immediate sightings.

"He is believed to have links to Nelson and Colne.

"We are now concerned for Alan’s welfare and are appealing for your help to find him."
