The Mountain Rescue team was called today (March 7) to reports a person was unable to move, on Pendle Hill.

The team met the casualty on the steps of Pendle Hill.

They were assessed by team members and transferred to the care of the ambulance service for further care.

A spokesperson for Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team.

said: “This morning, just before 11.15am, the team were contacted by Lancashire Police, to assist following reports of a casualty who was unable to mobilise from the steps on Pendle Hill.

“The team were deployed and made their way to the scene and met the casualty along with two gentlemen who had stopped their days to go to his assistance.

"The casualty was assisted down to the roadside where he was assessed by team members before being transferred to the care of a North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) crew for further assessment and onward care.

“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and would like to pass on our gratitude and thanks to the passers-by for their assistance.”
