Users of a half-century-old East Lancashire swimming venue have until Friday to make their views known on its fate.
Ribble Valley Council launched a public consultation on the the future of Ribblesdale Pool in Clitheroe and swimming provision in the borough.
It is housed in a 52-year-old building, which had a design life of 30 years when constructed in 1972.
A study, undertaken by Strategic Leisure Limited, is considering the cost of rebuilding or refurbishing the Edisford Road pool, how much it will cost to run and whether or not it might attract funding.
It will also look at what type of facility is needed to meet the needs of future residents and swimmers at the current or alternative sites, and other physical activities that respondents take part in.
The public survey of local residents and swimmers views commissioned as part of that survey finishes at midnight on Friday.
So far almost 2,000 people have taken part.
Cllr Ricky Newmark, chair of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s community services committee, said: “Ribblesdale Pool is a popular facility, which has served generations of local swimmers, but it is suffering from wear and tear and is subject to spiralling energy costs.
“We are committed to providing a public swimming pool and it is crucial that we understand the views of residents and pool-users, whose input we really value.
“The response to the survey has been fantastic and we are inviting as many people as possible to have their say before Friday’s deadline.”
The survey is available at the Ribble Valley Council website.
Respondents who provide their email address will be entered into a draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.
