*UPDATE: The road has now reopened*
Traffic is building on the A56 northbound after a crash.
The A56, from Rising Bridge roundabout to Huncoat, is closed due to the crash.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area until the road reopens. According to police, no injuries have been reported.
According to AA Traffic and Travel there are delays of around seven minutes, between A680 Blackburn Road (Rising Bridge Roundabout) and Sandy Lane.
A police spokesperson said: “The A56 Northbound from Rising Bridge roundabout to Huncoat is closed due to a road traffic collision. Please avoid the area and we will provide an update when possible."
A spokesperson for AA Traffic and Travel said: “Road blocked due to crash on A56 Northbound from A680 Blackburn Road (Rising Bridge Roundabout) to A679.
“Delays of seven minutes and delays easing on A56 northbound between A680 Blackburn Road (Rising Bridge Roundabout) and Sandy Lane. Average speed ten mph.”
