A podcast that is recorded, edited and produced 'out of a back bedroom' in East Lancashire is becoming the fastest growing video podcast show in the UK.
The 'Off Track Podcast' is a motorcycle racing podcast created and hosted by Dave Neal from Barrowford, Nelson, and British Supersport Champion, Ben Currie.
After 25 years in working in the sport for free, and podcasting on another show as a hobby, Dave got his chance to join a British Superbike team as a Press Officer and then moved on to create the show.
Dave said: "It is all done out of a back bedroom in Barrowford, and is a job that we have created from scratch.
"Almost every other show is set up by or run by well known journos or riders, but this show is set up by me, a fan who worked hard and served his time."
The Off Track Podcast now reaches almost 50,000 viewers a month on YouTube, and has a reached more than 4,000,000 people, with 250,000 tuning in over the year.
Dave migrated the show to Buzzsprout in late November, and has just passed 50,000 downloads on that site as well.
Recent guests on the podcast include Charlie Hiscott, who started in TV and film from his love of bikes and bike racing to roles covering Bennetts British Superbike, WorldSBK and Moto Grand Prix as a producer, grid walk presenter and Moto2 FP communications.
Dave continued: "We are immensely proud of these figures, especially as the YouTube channel is only 12 months old.
"I want to say thank you to all our audio listeners. The statistics tell a great story very similar to YouTube.
"The vast majority of listeners who find us tend to stay and also go through the back catalogue of shows.
"If you are a regular listener then thank you so much for your continued support, if you are a new listener then welcome along and we hope you enjoy what we do."
You can listen to the Off Track Podcast on Buzzsprout or wherever you get your podcasts.
