New analysis from a rail performance outlet has revealed the best and worst stations in East Lancashire for performance and cancellations.
The region is not the busiest in terms of passenger travel, with only one station, Blackburn, being inside the 500 busiest across the country.
Every station was given percentages by On Time Trains on how many of its trains were on time; one to two minutes late; three to four minutes late; five to nine minutes late; 10 minutes or more late; or cancelled, and then given an overall performance score based on these.
Only four stations in East Lancashire, all on the same line, scored 80 per cent or above for overall performance.
Clitheroe, the terminus of the Ribble Valley line, is the best ranked station in the region with an overall performance score of 84 per cent.
Langho (81 per cent), Whalley (81 per cent), and Ramsgreave & Wilpshire (80 per cent), all intermediate stations on the Ribble Valley line between Blackburn and Clitheroe, were the others to score 80 per cent or above.
On weekdays, there is an hourly service each way on this line, running from around 6am to just after 11pm, and is slightly reduced on Sundays.
Of the 2,619 stations analysed in the data, Clitheroe, Ramsgreave, and Whalley were ranked between the 1,000th and 2,000th busiest stations in the country, while Langho was above 2,000th.
The larger towns in the region all performed similarly; Accrington achieved 74 per cent overall performance, Blackburn 77 per cent, and Burnley Manchester Road 76 per cent.
Manchester Road was the best performing of the four stations in Burnley.
