A man has submitted proposals to turn a hair salon in an East Lancashire town into two flats.
Mark Byrne, of Boutique Homes Ltd in Barrow, has submitted plans to Ribble Valley Borough Council to convert the former Way-A-Head salon in York Street, Clitheroe.
The building is currently empty, and the plans would bring it back into use.

A design statement submitted to the council said: “The proposed works are to convert the vacant hairdressers into two self-contained flats to bring the empty building back into use.
“The proposed works will involve the following: replacement windows and doors; upgrading fire resistance of the existing structure; installation of new kitchens; installation of new sanitary fittings; installation of new electrical wiring circuits; installation of new electrical heating system; and external decoration of the premises.
“The proposed alterations will have minimal impact on the existing fabric of the building.
“None of the original internal finishes remain following past renovation works. The proposed refurbishment works will have minimal impact on the original fabric of the building.

“The external appearance of the building remains unchanged, with a more sympathetic, neutral colour scheme and suitably designed windows to reflect the location of the building, nearby recently upgraded buildings on York Street, within the Clitheroe Conservation Area.”
The plans were registered with the council earlier this month and will now be discussed at a meeting.
