This week, we have chosen a traditional pub in Blackburn that ranks highly with reviews from locals.

Their website says: "With three bars and a large selection of cask, lager and spirts, we have choice to suit all variety of tastes.

"We always show Sky and BT sports fixtures and offer all round entertainment with our pool table and interactive darts.

"Here at the Observatory we offer fresh, homecooked food to accompany our large range of drinks.

The pub regularly offers live events, including male vocalists Paul Dunn, Alan Kelly, and Lee Calvin who delivers lively acoustic classic rock and indie covers.

The menu consists of pizzas, sizzling platters and burgers, of which have been nicknamed the 'best burgers in Lancashire' by customers.

One TripAdvisor user left a five star review and commented: "Compliments to the chef! Burgers are amazing! About an inch thick, juicy and full of flavour.

"One portion can easily feed two people. The atmosphere is pleasant and staff cant do enough for you.

"Will happily go there again."

Another user left a five star review and said: "Popped in while visiting our daughter for Sunday roast. All I can say is we left absolutely stuffed.

"The Mrs had the roast beef, I had the Thai red curry and step son had two servings of Brie bites and a portion of black pudding.

"Highly recommend this place for service, food and sports."

Another said: "Went as a family group of 15. The food was really good and hot, the staff was really good and [all the] food came out pretty much same time.

"Can't fault anything, would go again."
