Northern has warned travellers that train services will be “brought to a halt” later this month as more strike action is set to commence.
The train company, which operates across Lancashire, says services will be disrupted on Wednesday, January 31, as ASLEF union members strike.
There will be no Northern services at all on this day.
Other disruption is expected from Monday, January 29, until Tuesday, February 6. This is due to action short of strike called by ASLEF.
Customers are advised to check before they travel as there may be some short notice cancellations to services running on these days.
Tricia Williams, chief operating officer at Northern, said: “We urge customers to check before they travel during this period of industrial action.
“We apologise in advance for the significant disruption and inconvenience this will cause our customers.
"We hope to see a resolution to this issue in the near future and an end to the disruption these strikes cause."
Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,500 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
