Several road closures were put in place last night, and more this morning, as storm Isha raged across East Lancashire.
Jacksons Bank Road in Balderstone, Blackburn, was closed this morning (Monday, January 22) due to a fallen tree which had blocked the road.
It is believed that at the time of writing (10am), the road was still closed in both directions from Bezza Lane/Woods Brow to Nightfield Lane/Commons Lane.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Please be aware Jacksons Bank Rd, Balderstone, Blackburn is currently closed due to a fallen tree blocking the road.
"Please find an alternative route where possible."
Elsewhere, police closed Whalley Road in Sadben, both ways from the junction of Whins Avenue to The Whins.
Again, at the time of writing, the road was still closed due to a fallen tree.
The police spokesperson added: "We are currently at the scene of a road closure on Whalley Road, Sabden.
"The road is closed in both directions from the junction of Whins Avenue to The Whins.
"The road is closed due to a fallen tree and maybe closed for some time.
"Please find alternative routes and avoid the area if possible."
In Hyndburn, Oak Lane has become impassable due to a fallen tree close to Accrington College.
People are still believed to be walking along the lane, but closure barriers have been put in place and it is expected the council will be on scene to clear the tree as soon as possible.
