An East Lancashire bypass had to be closed last night following a crash which left a van on its roof.
Police closed the A56 Edenfield Bypass on Sunday night (January 21) following the incident, with the bypass shut northbound onto the Haslingden Bypass.
All traffic was being diverted onto the A682 New Hall Hey Bypass into Rawtenstall.
A spokesperson for the police said a van had crashed with a car resulting in the van overturning and ending up on its roof.
Thankfully though, according to the police, there were no serious injuries reported and it is believed the road was re-opened before rush hour this morning (January 21).
A spokesperson for the police said last night: "Please be aware that the A56 Edenfield Bypass northbound onto the Haslingden Bypass is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.
"All traffic is being directed onto the A682 New Hall Hey Bypass into Rawtenstall.

This morning, the police provided this comment as an update: "This was a damage only collision.

"No injuries, and no arrests.
"Highways dealt with road closure to repair the barrier."
