It’s been a cold week in Lancashire with wintry conditions battering the county and more snow reportedly on the way – but when will the cold weather come to an end?
Snow fell on Tuesday leading to school closures and travel chaos.
The icy roads have been causing havoc for businesses and motorists. In Blackburn, a car even flipped onto its roof after travelling down an icy road.
According to the Met Office, more snow is forecast in parts of East Lancashire this morning including Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
Forecasters predicts that the weather will change this weekend, turning milder from Saturday.
It’s not all good news though as the wintry conditions are set to be replaced with wind and rain as storm Isha hits the county.
A yellow and amber ‘danger to life’ warning for wind and rain will come into force across the north west, Lancashire included.
The wind warning is in place from Sunday at 6pm until Monday at 9am.
The rain warning is in force for 24 hours from Sunday at 6am.
#StormIsha has been named by the Met Office and is forecast to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the UK later on Sunday and into Monday

Met Office deputy chief meteorologist David Hayter said: “Conditions will stay cold on Friday but a change in weather type is on the way, bringing milder air for the UK during the course of the weekend.
“This change will initially be relatively benign in terms of weather impacts, with a dry Friday and start to Saturday for many in the south of the UK. The Atlantic influence will then introduce some wet and windy weather, with a deep area of low pressure approaching from the west on Sunday.
“While detail is still being worked out, we expect windy weather for many and some heavy rain in the west and so we’ve issued warnings for Sunday for wind and rain. Watch out for updates to these warnings on Friday and Saturday as the forecast develops.”
