The icy weather has caused disruption over the past couple of days, causing businesses and schools to close.
Snow fell across the region on Tuesday, January 16, and the icy conditions are still affecting people in Lancashire today.
Several schools have already announced their closure this morning and businesses are unable to open today.
Here is a list:
- The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery, Rawtenstall
The museum is closed today due to the weather conditions.
A spokesperson said: “We have decided to close the museum today due to the snowy and icy conditions. Stay safe out there.
“We should be back to normal operations tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you.”
- Rishton Golf Club, Rishton
Sharing a picture of a snow covered golf course, Rishton Golf Club confirmed that the course will remain closed today.
- Gisburn Forest Café, Gisburn
A café in Gisburn Forest will remain closed today due to frozen pipes.
A spokesperson said: “We are closed today and possibly tomorrow due to frozen pipes.
“Even though we have made it in we are unable to use the water on site. Stay home everyone and stay safe. We will keep you updated.”
While the forest itself will remain open, visitors have been urged to take care while walking in the area.
A spokesperson for Forestry England said:” Anyone who is planning a visit to Gisburn Forest today, please take extra care due to the weather conditions. The forest is still open, however, trails and nearby roads are still covered in snow and ice.
“Please also note that the toilet block in the main car park is still closed, with works being delayed due to the snow.”
