Police have warned residents over unsafe parking from vehicles on double yellow lines in Whalley Range, Blackburn.
Complaints have been reported from residents about traffic congestions outside local shops and takeaways along the stretch, especially at busy times of the day.
Lancashire Police say vehicles parking on double yellow lines are causing an obstruction to the highway and committing road traffic offences.
Parking tickets have been issued and people have been advised to move along.
Scott Leatherbarrow, from Lancashire Police, said: "This week the neighbourhood team have spent time in and around Whalley Range dealing with vehicles parking on double yellow lines outside of local shops and takeaways.
"This is due to the complaints we have received from residents and traffic congestions being caused on the street, especially at busy times of the day.
"This week we have seen a huge increase in vehicles parking on the double yellow lines to which people have been advised and moved along with parking tickets being issued.
"There is plenty of parking available on Whalley Range or Randal Street along with a brand new car park on Victoria Street that people can use while picking up their food."
