An East Lancashire social housing provider has given future residents of a new flagship £16 million care development a first look at what it will provide for them.
Calico Homes has shared computer generated images and footage of the inside its new Dovestone Gardens scheme in Burnley.
It will be the first extra care development for older residents in the borough.
The scheme, which is being funded by Homes England, will provide 93 apartments, predominantly for people over 55 with additional support needs.
The development in Briercliffe Road - the largest project Calico has undertaken - has already transformed derelict land at Burnley General Hospital and futher work is now well underway at the site.
The four-storey building has 71 two bed apartments and 22 one bed apartments, and is scheduled for completion later this year.
Dovestone Gardens will have 50 car parking spaces with a mixture of resident and short stay visitor parking.
In early 2024, the phased individual selection process for apartments will start.
The images show an insight into the facilities that will be available onsite.
They include a bistro open to the public, which will provide a community hub for local groups to meet and undertake activities.
Phil Jones, director of new services at The Calico Group, said: ‘We’re delighted to show everyone an insight into what Dovestone Gardens will look like and excited to be progressing with the development.
"Dovestone Gardens will be a huge boost to the local area in providing much needed care accommodation and we’re proud at Calico to be the deliverer of Burnley’s first extra care facility.”
Ring Stones Construction and Maintenance are leading the construction work on behalf of Calico Homes, supported by Identity Consult, the project manager and quantity surveyor for the development.
The CGI footage has been developed by freelance 3D artist Sam Calvert, and the interior design work of Dovestone Gardens has been carried out by Studio Henderson, which has worked on development projects across the North West.
Dovestone Gardens has been designed by architects Brock Carmichael.
