A man was arrested after testing positive for cocaine and cannabis at the roadside, according to police.
Officers in Rossendale stopped a Volkswagen Golf in Rawtenstall after seeing it being driven ‘at speed’ on the A56 on Saturday.
Officers took a sample from the driver which police said showed the presence of the two drugs.
The driver was arrested for drug driving and taken to custody, and also had his car seized for having no licence or insurance.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers suspected the driver was intoxicated and requested a sample of saliva from him at the roadside. The roadside test promptly indicated the presence of cocaine and cannabis.
“The driver also had no licence or insurance so we seized his car and will be dealing with these offences.”
