Three handbags were robbed from women in separate incidents in Burnley.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robberies which all happened near to Burnley General Hospital in December.

The first incident happened on December 3 in Ivan Street, when a man wearing a dark puffer coat grabbed a bag off a woman in her 30s. He ran from the scene on foot, leaving behind a bicycle.

The second incident was in Casterton Avenue on December 17 when the offender, who was on a bicycle, stole a bag from a woman in her 40s.

Finally, on December 28, a woman in her 70s was robbed of her handbag in Bracewell Street.

The offender, described as slim and wearing black joggers and a hooded top, rode off on a dark coloured bike.
