McDonald’s have launched a public consultation seeking the views of the community on plans for a new restaurant in Lancashire.
An online portal has been developed with further detail about the proposals, and a newsletter has been distributed to residents.
The proposed site is on Clayton Green Business Park, within a well-established commercial setting at Clayton-le-Woods, Chorley.
Home to a former public house, and in an well-connected location, the multi-million-pound investment would complement existing businesses in Clayton-le-Woods, and create around 120 new jobs.
The development will also see Chorley Council benefit, with business rates of around £60,000 being paid to the Council, for investment into vital local services.
Recognising the importance of community consultation, McDonald’s have launched an online portal where further detail is available.
The views of residents and nearby businesses will help inform how McDonald’s progress plans for a new store and a consultation has been launched to hear them.
Oliver Rebeiro, Acquisitions Surveyor at McDonald's said: “We’re excited to be presenting our plans for a new McDonald’s restaurant to the Clayton-le-Woods community.
"This development would deliver over 120 new, local jobs, and provide a multi-million pound investment into the local economy, at a time of economic uncertainty.
"The site, located within the Clayton Green Business Park, is ideally placed to serve residents and visitors in Clayton-le-Woods, and complements the business community that already exists in the area.
"We’re confident that residents and local businesses will recognise the value of greater choice in Clayton-le-Woods, and the benefits of having a reliable and convenient restaurant from a recognised brand serving food at reasonable prices.
"We’re looking forward to working closely with the community and receiving feedback on our plans. We’d like to encourage everyone interested to go to our website and make their views known.”
Locals can input feedback until Friday, January 19, by searching McDonald's Consultation and Clayton-le-Woods.
