This photo records a sad day for clubgoers across East Lancashire.
It was taken in April 1996 after the final record had been played at Angels nightclub in Burnley.
Special guest DJ Carl Cox had the honour of playing the last record as the club prepared to close its doors after operating for 22 years.
In that time it had gained a reputation as one of the best dance clubs in the North West, pioneering many new music styles and genres. Pictured with Carl Cox are Paul Taylor and Steve Farkas who ran Angels and who were looking to open a new venture Club XPO.
Paul Taylor has gone on to become acknowledged as one of the godfathers of the House music scene and has been behind the Retro brand.
Were you there on the last night or were you an Angels regular? If you have any photos or memories, we'd love to hear from you. Email bygones@nqnw.co.uk or leave a comment.
