A builder from Lancashire is going to have a joyous Christmas, after winning a cash prize and a car in an online competition.
Craig Stone, from Chorley, was working in his telehandler when he discovered he had won a car and cash prize worth nearly £30,000 courtesy of online competition firm BOTB.
Craig received a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams who surprised him with the news he had won a Dacia Duster Journey, worth £25,000, plus £2,000 in cash.
“I can’t believe it! I’ve never won anything, so I’m over the moon. It’s going to be a good Christmas,” said the first winner of BOTB’s seven days of draws competition.
“We were looking at getting a new car and saw the Dacia being advertised. My wife told me to enter and see how I get on. It feels amazing to have won.”
The Dacia Duster Journey features a refreshed interior and exterior design, and is renowned for being a reliable vehicle for everyday use as well as adventures in the great outdoors.
Craig, who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this year, said he was considering taking the cash alternative.
“With the cost of living the way it is, things have been tough and we have struggled to keep up, so the money would definitely come in handy,” he added.
“What we might do is get Christmas out of the way and then look at getting a car - maybe a second hand Dacia.
“One of the guys up the road from us has got one and we have been saying what a nice car it is. It will also suit us as we have got a couple of dogs which can go in the back.
“I would also like to go and visit my cousin in America next year. We keep saying we’ll go over and haven’t been able to.”
Christian said: “A huge congratulations to Craig for winning this brilliant prize.
“The car is being advertised all over the place at the moment and it has got some fantastic reviews. It is a lovely vehicle to drive and has lots of options on it which is fantastic.”
BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Winners have bagged Rolex watches, holidays and motorbikes in recent months.
BOTB was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away a whopping £64m-worth of cars so far.
