There are long delays on the M6 this evening (December 19) due to a crash.
Lanes have reopened on the motorway near J31 (Samlesbury) heading northbound, but there are still long residual delays.
Lancashire Police have confirmed a driver crashed their car into the central reservation, though it was a damage-only incident and no further information was given.
The AA traffic website says: "Long delays due to earlier crash on the M6 northbound at J31 A59 Preston New Road (Samlesbury). All lanes have been re-opened."
National Highways is reporting that normal traffic conditions are not expected for at least another hour, between 6.30-6.45pm.
There are also delays heading southbound at J30, where the M6 meets the M61, and on the M61 northbound due to an earlier stalled vehicle.
