A road closure was in place last night as police dealt with an incident in Downham.
At around 8pm last night (December 11), police closed Pendle Road near Clitheroe due to an incident that took place.
It is not yet clear what kind of incident happened but one woman said she ‘heard all the sirens’ in the area.
Police have been contacted for more information about the incident.
Before the road reopened a couple of hours later, a statement posted on Ribble Valley Facebook last night said: “ We are currently dealing with an incident near Downham Village Hall.
“As a result we have temporarily closed Pendle Road so there is no access into the village at this time.
“We will update you once the road has been reopened.
“Thank you for your patience.”
