The crime rate in Blackburn with Darwen decreased slightly in October having increased the month previous.
Data from police.uk shows 1,650 crimes were committed in the borough in October, with violence and sexual offences topping the list for the second month running.
The overall total of crimes decreased by 2.01 per cent having increased by 8.01 per cent in September.

Using the data, it is possible to map exactly where each crime took place in the borough and determine how many instances of each crime there was.
Of the 14 crimes listed in the data, there were nine increases and five decreases.
Robbery saw the biggest percentage increase, going up by 83.33 per cent from six to 11.
The other crimes changed as follows:
- Violence and sexual offences – 571 (Sep) – 520 (Oct) – down 8.93 per cent
- Anti-social behaviour – 541 (Sep) – 444 (Oct) – down 17.92 per cent
- Shoplifting – 113 (Sep) – 176 (Oct) – up 55.75 per cent
- Criminal damage and arson – 93 (Sep) – 114 (Oct) – up 22.58 per cent
- Other theft – 84 (Sep) – 107 (Oct) – up 27.38 per cent
- Vehicle crime 76 (Sep) – 63 (Oct) – down 17.10 per cent
- Public order – 74 (Sep) – 51 (Oct) – down 31.08 per cent
- Burglary – 48 (Sep) – 71 (Oct) – up 47.91 per cent
- Drugs – 28 (Sep) – 32 (Oct) – up 14.28 per cent
- Other crime – 25 (Sep) – 28 (Oct) – up 12 per cent
- Possession of weapons – 12 (Sep) – 21 (21) – up 75 per cent
- Theft from person – 10 (Sep) – 7 (Oct) – down 30 per cent
- Bike theft – 3 (Sep) – 5 (Oct) – up 66.66 per cent
Two other East Lancashire boroughs recorded decreases in crime.
Burnley dropped by 9.54 per cent from 1,184 in September to 1,297 in October, while Pendle dropped by 5.24 per cent from 781 to 740.
Meanwhile, Rossendale saw a huge increase of 32.72 per cent from 492 crimes in September to 653 in October.
Ribble Valley also went up by 8.42 per cent from 261 to 283, while Hyndburn increases slightly by 0.64 per cent from 926 to 932.
