A fire broke out at a home in Blackburn yesterday evening, with firefighters called to the scene.

The blaze broke out on Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn at around 7.35pm on the evening of Saturday December 9.

Crews were called in from Blackburn Fire Station to tackle the blaze and remained on Livsey Branch Road until just after 9.30pm that same evening.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 19.35 on December 9 2023, one fire engine from Blackburn attended a domestic property fire on Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn.

“Firefighters used an aqua leader pack, small tools, a hearth kit and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance two hours.”

The firefighters returned safely to their station after the Livesey Branch Road blaze was put out.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire nor have any further details been released about any other damage that may have been caused to the building itself or those surrounding.

Members of the public have been advised to always report suspected fires and other emergencies to the Fire and Rescue Service as soon as it is safe to do so.
