A Blackburn school rated 'outstanding' in a recent inspection has launched new nursery classes.
Wensley Fold C of E Primary Academy's new nursery for two to five year olds will be within the neighbouring Wensley Fold Children’s Centre.
The nursery includes designated areas including sand and water, role play and a book corner and a curriculum will include 'monster phonics' and the White Rose Maths programmes.
Headteacher, Donna Simpson, said: “We are really excited and proud to open our nursery class.
"News of the opening of the nursery has been greatly received by the community with many parents placing their children on the waiting list 12 months prior to the opening date.”
The nursery will be managed by the Tracy Ellett, who parents may remember for her time with St Mary’s nurseries.
Twenty-two children started their early year’s education journey in early November when the nursery first opened its doors.
From January 24 the nursery will be fully operational offering 20 places for two-year-olds and 47 for preschool children from 9am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday during term time only.
The school said longer sessions for children between the hours 8.30am until 4pm are also available.
