An annual Christmas event at a community centre in Burnley returned last week with almost £400 raised.
Organised by Burnley, Pendle, and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service (BPRCVS), the Gannow Christmas Cracker saw a Christmas market, Santa’s grotto, children’s activities, a tombola, and a raffle held at the Gannow Community Centre.
Children had the pleasure and excitement of visiting the grotto and were able to take home a present to put under their Christmas tree.

The market, which has proven to be popular with visitors in previous editions of the event, gave visitors a chance to buy unique gifts not available in high street shops.
All stalls at the market were local makers selling their homemade and handmade wares, from bath bombs and jewellery to wood carvings and sweets.
There were also appearances from children’s characters, including Elsa and Olaf from Frozen.

A number of stalls were linked to charitable organisations, whole the tombola, raffle, and refreshment stalls raised close to £400, which will be split to support BPRCVS’s Health & Wellbeing for Children & Families and the café at Gannow Community Centre.
Event organiser Michelle Walker said: “We had a fantastic turnout. The community of Gannow and the wider Burnley area really do come together to help others and I am proud to be a part of the BPRCVS family that works tirelessly to help other people.”
