A packed audience heard from a range of speakers at the launch of a new women’s group in Blackburn.
The launch of the ‘Unstoppable Ladies Group’ took place at the Pringle Street Learning Centre where attendees heard from councillors and members of the police service.
The Deputy Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Councillor Sylvia Liddle was special guest and told the audience how inspired she as to be at the event.
Organiser Riff Haworth said: "What a great evening and of course the food, an incredible turnout surrounded by an amazing group of ladies.
“Moments like these that truly remind us what a wonderful community we are bringing together.”
The group plans to host activities and events for women in the area.

Audley and Queen’s Park Councillor Salim Sidat said: “I found inspiration in numerous remarkable women who aspire to promote success for women in Blackburn. The event was truly fantastic, brimming with ideas and desires for various activities.

“The group aims to meet weekly for informal discussions over tea and plan activities such as walking, health, spa visits, swimming, and days out. These are just a few of the suggestions. Riff and I are thrilled to have initiated this exciting project."
