The A56 was closed for eight hours overnight due to a car crash near Huncoat.
At around 10.40pm last night (November 24), the road was closed after a car skidded into the central reservation.
The closure was in place in both directions between the A680 Rising Bridge and A679.
Police say the incident was a 'damage only road traffic collision' so no one was injured.
As a result of the crash, there were delays and traffic building near the Accrington Bypass.
The northbound carriageway reopened early this morning at 12.30am with the A56 southbound remaining closed until 7am.
