More than 100 people turned out a singles event aiming to support members of the Muslim community in Blackburn find love.

The event was organised by Sisters4Sisters group, a non-profit organisation led by a team of five women who are all based in the town.

The gathering took place at the Foxfields Country Hotel in Billington, and organisers said they were delighted with the feedback from attendees, who were said to be ‘well-balanced’ with a 50-50 split of men and women.

A representative from the Sisters4sisters said: "We had a blast playing matchmaker and hoped the attendees found a potential spouse.

"Thank you to making our first event a resounding success. We are forever grateful for turning our event into the talk of the town.

“We would also like to thank The Foxfields Country Hotel for its exceptional hospitality and support.”

The event included an appearance from Vic and Taf, two renowned relationship coaches, and the driving force behind ‘Tea For Two’. 

Sisters4sisters said: “Their profound understanding of interpersonal dynamics, coupled with their wealth of experience, proved to be the highlight of the evening.

“Attendees were able to engage in meaningful conversations and potentially find compatible partners.

“The buzz surrounding the event has not only brought joy to us but also instilled a sense of hope and positivity within the community.

“The event's success marks a significant milestone for us in highlighting our commitment to fostering connections within the Muslim community in Blackburn.”

The group said it was looking forward to hosting further events and creating ‘valuable opportunities for individuals seeking companionship and meaningful relationships’.
