Pictures have emerged of Michelle Keegan, Joe Gilgun and other Brassic stars in Bacup, as they film a new series of the TV show.
The pictures, some of which contain episode spoilers, show filming taking place for series six of the Sky show earlier this month.
Pictures feature Michelle Keegan, who plays Erin Croft, and Chorley’s Joe Gilgun, who plays Vinnie, behind the scenes.
Another shot shows a potential spoiler for the episode, featuring a hearse with a coffin inside.
Roads around Bacup, including Union Street St James Street were closed last week while the cast and crew filmed some scenes.
In a letter, sent to residents, people were told to expect to see a scene which “involved a funeral procession”.
The cast and crew also paid a visit to Baked Cakes and used the cake shop as their green room.
Based on the ‘true-life’ misadventures of three-time BAFTA nominated lead actor and co-creator Joe the critically acclaimed Brassic has a signature blend of high comedy and emotional authenticity.
It follows the lives of a group of friends who are driven to a life of petty crime.
The series has been dubbed “gloriously fun” (Heat), “raucous and racy” (TV Times) and “like nothing else on TV” (Radio Times). Also starring Michelle Keegan, Dominic West, Damien Molony, Tom Hanson, Aaron Heffernan, Ryan Sampson, Parth Thakerar, Bronagh Gallagher, Joanna Higson, and Steve Evets. Co-creator Danny Brocklehurst writes, along with Alex Ganley and Danielle Ward.
Bacup doubles as the backdrop to the series, the fictional town of Hawley.
Series five of Brassic, which was also filmed in Bacup, aired in September.
It is not yet known when series six will air, but based on the patterns of previous seasons, it could be released in September 2024.
