A 10-year-old has raised more than £2,000 for her local hospice by taking part in a zip-line challenge.

Ellesse Jolly, of Blackburn, was inspired to raise money for East Lancashire Hospice after learning about the care given to her nan, Sharon June Jolley.

Last month Ellesse conquered the UK's biggest zip line in Wales, which stretches more than 1,500ft and sees thrill-seekers travel at 100mph.

Ellesse is hoping to carry on raising funds for the hospice in the New year with two more challenges – an indoor sky dive and a trek up Snowdonia.

She said: “My nan was in and out of the hospice and they did the best they possibly could to help her.”

On Sunday, December 3 Ellesse will attend East Lancashire Hospice, as a special guest to switch on the tree lights, at their ‘Light up a Life’ event.  The event sees people come together to remember their loved ones.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Last year, Ellesse created a memory tree in honour of those who have lost people close to them.

She wrote messages of love and remembrance for a £1 donation in aid of the hospice.

Within days she had raised more than £200 and later ended up donating £800.

Ellesse and her family wanted to thank all of their family, friends and everyone who has supported her journey.
