A driver who was spotted driving his mobility scooter at 30mph in lane two of the M6 had his vehicle seized, police have said.

Lancashire's Road Police said they had multiple calls reporting the vehicle on the M6  and then on the M61 in the early hours of Sunday morning (November 12).

Following further checks, police rendered the vehicle unfit to be on the road and it was seized.

The driver was also reported after police located the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Road Police said: "Multiple calls of a vehicle in lane 2 of the M6, onto the M61 this morning travelling at 30mph.

"Vehicle located, driver reported and vehicle seized."
