A photographer from Clitheroe has won an award for his work – and after looking at some of his pictures it is clear to see why.
Peter Anslow has won at the SME News’ Northern Enterprise Awards, for wedding photographer of the year.
He also recently won a prize at the Media Innovator Awards, for most trusted wedding photographer 2023.
Peter has been working as a full-time wedding photographer for around 20 years.
He specialises in ‘wow’ shots with some of his best snaps showing couples under an umbrella in a rain and the wedding party with colourful flares.
Peter said it is nice to be recognised for the work he does.
He said: “It is always nice to be recognised for the work you do.
“I have a particular style when it comes to wedding photography. I am renowned for my ‘wow’ shots, using different lighting to taking pictures.
“One of my ‘wow’ shots is of a couple outside in the rain. If you can get a couple to go outside in the rain it is surprising what you can do using a little extra light.”
Peter said his experience and ability to always find good lighting may have cinched him the award.
He said: “Someone had nominated me. I then had to answer a questionnaire and send some of photos in.
“I think my experience in the field makes me stand out. I know how to find the light and find good backgrounds, which is tricky at some venues.
“I want to thank everyone who nominated me and voted for me.”
Peter, who currently lives in Trawden, mainly works in the East Lancashire area but also works in wider parts of Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire.
