A nursery in Turton has been praised by Ofsted in its latest inspection.
The Jumbles Children's Nursery, on Wellington Road, was rated as ‘good’ at the latest inspection, which took place at the start of October.
The nursery was also rated as good in its previous inspection, which took place in 2018.
Inspectors said children feel “settled and safe” at the nursery. They are comforted and reassured by staff if they ever become upset.
Staff are also said to have high expectations of children’s behaviour and teach them how to manage their emotions.
The report said: “Staff sensitively talk to children about the importance of sharing toys and teach them how to tidy up.
“Staff help children to develop their concentration and to maintain attention when accessing activities. Children are developing positive attitudes to learning.”
Since previous inspections, staff are said to have “improved their processes for recording, sharing and storing information about children”.
Staff also have a better understanding of how to report safeguarding concerns to agencies.
According to the report, nursery workers are said to be able to identify any gaps in children’s learning and also “promote a love of reading”.
The report said: “Children of all ages enjoy listening to the staff read stories aloud. They listen carefully and point out what.”
Safeguarding arrangements are also said to be effective. After a previous incident, where a child’s dietary requirements were not met, measures are in place to ensure that the medical and dietary needs of all children are known by all staff
The report said: “Following an incident involving a failure to ensure children's dietary requirements were met, leaders have taken effective action.
“Leaders have taken action to ensure that medication is stored in line with requirements and disposed of safely. Effective risk assessments are in place that help staff to identify and manage risks.
“Children are also taught about the importance of good health and hygiene.”
The inspection also highlighted an area where the nursery could improve further. Staff need to “consistently use their interactions to extend children's learning”.
A spokesperson for the nursery said: “We are so thrilled to be able to announce that at our latest Ofsted inspection we were graded good by Ofsted.
“We are so proud of the team we have at the Jumbles and we cannot thank you all enough for your support and kind words.”
