A MAN who had been ordered to leave a Blackburn town centre bar ended up punching the landlady.
The town’s magistrates heard Harry Smith and his two associates were rude and abusive from the moment they entered Sam’s bar on Northgate.
Smith, 32, of Tuscan Avenue, Burnley, pleaded guilty to assaulting Nicola Smith causing her actual bodily harm and using threatening behaviour towards her.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Henry Prescott, prosecuting, said the three men walked into the bar after being involved in an altercation outside.
“They were rude and abusive and she asked them to leave,” said Mr Prescott. “The defendant replied with rude and vulgar comments and said he would put her in a body bag.”
Mr Prescott said another man led him out of the pub and the landlady came out with his phone which he had left behind.
“As she returned the phone he punched her to the head causing her immediate pain,” said Mr Prescott.
“He said he could not remember making the threats inside the bar.”
