A young horse rider was airlifted to hospital after falling from their horse in Rossendale.
Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team (RPMRT) were called at around 1pm on Wednesday (October 18) to hills near Crawshawbooth.
The 22-year-old rider, who was with a group, suffered a suspected mid femur injury and was taken to hospital by North West Air Ambulance Service.
Two vehicles responded from RPMRT and arrived at the scene shortly after the air ambulance.
They helped paramedics ‘stabilise’ the rider before assisting with getting them into the helicopter.
A spokesperson for RPMRT said: “Thanks for North West Air Ambulance Service as usual for great joint working, and we hope the casualty makes a good recovery.”
