Police have warned residents in an East Lancashire borough to be vigilant after concerns were raised about a man trying car doors and acting suspiciously around houses.
Rossendale Police have received numerous messages concerned about the man’s behaviour in both Rawtenstall and Crawshawbooth.
Police say officers have been present in those areas at key times over the last three nights on both mobile patrols and on foot, but the offender has not yet been located.
They are asking residents to ensure their cars and any sheds, garages, and outhouses are secure.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “Please can we ask that if anyone sees anything suspicious during the night they call 101 or 999 if a criminal offence is taking place.
“If you have captured any footage of this offender on CCTV or on a Ring Doorbell, please can you again contact us so we can gather as much evidence as possible to identity and locate this offender.”
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to email NPT-Rossendale@lancashire.police.uk
