A man has been charged after a woman was assaulted at a house in Blackburn.
Over the weekend, police received a call from a woman in her 20s stating she had been assaulted at a house in Little Harwood.
Following enquiries, police arrested and charged Wayne Hoole, 44, of Whalley Old Road, Blackburn with assault occasion actual bodily harm and theft.
He was remanded into custody to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Monday morning. He was also recalled to prison for an unrelated matter.
The woman was taken to hospital with a head injury.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We have charged a man after a woman reported being assaulted by a man at a house in Blackburn over the weekend.
"At 6.09am on Saturday we were contacted by a woman in her 20s who said she had been assaulted at a property in the Little Harwood area of the town. She later attended hospital with a head injury.
"Following enquires Wayne Hoole, 44, of Whalley Old Road, Blackburn, was charged with assault occasion actual bodily harm and theft. He was remanded into custody to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
"He was also recalled to prison for an unrelated matter."
