A popular Indian restaurant that was forced to close last year has reopened.
Blackburn businessman Abul Kashem was finally able to reopen The Little Tiger in its new premises on School Lane in Brinscall.
The restaurant was originally located on Bolton Road but Mr Kashem had to move due to a rejected lease extension.
The Little Tiger opened on Wednesday, October 4 and saw more than 100 people come to show their support.
One year after The Little Tiger served its final meal, Mr Kashem shared that the forced closure turned out to be a good thing for his business.
He said: “The rejected lease extension was stressful and that past year has been hard but it all happened for a reason.
“One door closed and another opened because we’ve moved to a more central area with a lovely community.
“Everybody has been so helpful and have welcomed us warmly. I want to thank the landlord Mr Richard Ormisher who has been extremely helpful throughout the renovations this past year.”
The menu has been updated and the new restaurant premises include a car park but the chefs have stayed the same and the majority of the front of house staff have remained.
The leader of Chorley Council, cllr Alistair Bradley was at the opening to show his support as well as councillor Margaret France.
Mr Kashem added: “The community came together to support us on the opening day, it’s been fantastic.
“The atmosphere was amazing. We had more people than seating so people were happy to stand and eat and enjoy the entertainment.
“We had performers including an Indian bhangra drummer, a magician and a Bollywood DJ. It was a brilliant night.
“I want to thank everyone for their continued support and thank our new community and friends and loyal customers.”
The Little Tiger is open seven days a week - until 11pm from Sunday to Friday and until 10pm on Saturdays.
