Businesses in Rossendale have been invited to an upcoming event offering support in helping them get to net zero.
The event, hosted by Rossendale Council and Chamber Low Carbon, will launch the new initiative to help firms in the borough become greener and reduce or offset emissions.
It is being held at St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall on Wednesday, October 18, between 8.30am and 11am, and all businesses – from one-person firms to the borough’s largest employers – are invited to attend.
The aim is to help firms improve energy efficiency, reduce their carbon footprints, achieve net zero and invest in low carbon innovation.
Rob Huntington, chief executive of Rossendale Council, said: “As a council we have a strong focus on achieving Net Zero.
“We greatly appreciate Chamber Low Carbon working with us to help towards that goal.”
Stephen Sykes, East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s director of sustainability, said: “The event is a great opportunity for us to give advice and explain what bespoke support is available to the business community of Rossendale.”
The Chamber Low Carbon was created by East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce – to achieve its low carbon initiative.
The Government-supported programme is committed to providing services to improve energy and environmental efficiencies and to introduce on-site renewable energy generation.
Tariq Ali, Rossendale Council’s business advisor, added: “Every eligible Rossendale business of any size that signs up to the projects will be entitled to fully funded support along their Net Zero journey.
“The support will be delivered via events, masterclasses and one to one bespoke support.”
