A popular karaoke bar in a Lancashire town is temporarily closing down after opening 12 months ago.

News about the closure of Marvin's bar in Highfield Road, South Shore has been circulating on social media resulting in many loyal customers expressing their sadness.

The chain, and building on Highfield Road in South Shore, is owned by Alex Huckerby who, at this moment in time, is unable to provide any information on when the South Shore bar will reopen to the public.

Marvin's bar opened its first venue on Breck Road in Poulton in 2018 followed by the second bar on Lytham’s Henry Street a year later.

The South Shore had its opening in August 2022 which was the third venue to open on the Fylde coast, and the first to open in Blackpool.

The second Blackpool venue one opened at the former Co-op bank in Clifton Street in May this year and has been popular with local residents since.

The other Fylde venues will remain open as usual. The bar features live DJs and soul singers on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Fans of the soul and Motown bar expressed their sadness over the news.

One person wrote: “This business has four sites and to make a business decision to close one site that costs more than it earns is a very smart business decision. I’m extremely proud of Team Marvin’s.”

Marvin's has been approached for more information about the temporary closure of the South Shore venue.
