Thousands of cinemagoers had enjoyed the latest films in this building but in 1974 when this photo was taken it was all over.
This poignant photo shows the interior of the Odeon Cinema on Penny Street in Blackburn after the demolition crew moved in.
The cinema, built in 1931 as the Rialto, will be remembered for its art deco style entrance.
It was known for housing a Compton theatre organ which would rise up on to the stage on a specially constructed lift. The organ had been removed in 1959 and sold for parts.
Were you a regular at the Odeon? Do you remember it being demolished?
