Members of a Blackburn bowling club raised £1,000 for their local hospital charity.
The Dugdale Memorial Bowling Club, based on Newcastle Street, hosted their annual bowling competition recently which attracted 34 teams.
The event aimed to raise funds for ELHT&Me, the official charity for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The tournament, which lasted seven hours, also saw people participate in a raffle and tombola.
Many of the participants adorned themselves in the colour pink, paying tribute to those who have been affected by cancer.
The donation will go toward enhancing the patient experience for individuals receiving care from the Primrose Unit Breast Cancer Team at Burnley General Teaching Hospital.
Tracey Cranage organised the event with help from her husband and friends Joan Pye and Bill Stemp.
She said: “Thank you to everyone who was a part of this day in one way or another, you have helped to make this event a resounding success and it’s for a fantastic cause.”
Head of charity at ELHT&Me, Denise Gee said: “We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants, spectators, volunteers and contributors who made this event such a resounding success. We thank you all for supporting ELHT&Me which will bring benefit to our loved ones.”
ELHT&Me supports five hospitals and community services across the East Lancashire.
