A care home has had plans to increase its number of rooms approved by council planning bosses.
The Manor House care home in Bridge Road, Chatburn, will gain six extra rooms as a result of the internal building works.
The proposal, submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council, will see the first floor reconfigured to allow access for a new staircase and a new lift to the second floor.

The second floor, which currently has an apartment for the previous owner of the building, will see the biggest change as it is converted into five care bedrooms with ensuites, changing the use from residential to part of the care home.
An additional section of the second floor which is currently used as an admin office will be extended to increase headroom and provide for two additional bedrooms, also with ensuites.
The office will be moved to an existing single storey storage building on the site, while one existing room will be lost on the first floor, making a net increase of six rooms.
The plans were approved by the council subject to five conditions, including the works beginning within three years.

Some concerns were raised with the council, including one response that opposed the extension of the roof as it would overlook their property and block sunlight.
They said this is already a problem and the approval of the plans would only “exacerbate the issue.”
Anyone wishing to appeal the decision has six months to do so.
