The 2023 World Firework Championships in Blackpool started with a bang as India lit up the sky and wowed thousands of visitors.
Last night (Saturday 16), huge crowds of people gathered on the Promenade to enjoy the stunning firework display.
India dazzled the spectators with the magnificent firework display which was designed by Azan Morani who has created some of the largest and most complex shows in the world.

“They have taken four hours of programming for every single minute of this breathtaking showcase. A huge amount of dedication has been poured into creating this unforgettable spectacle!”
Went for a stroll in Blackpool with Mrs Z last night. Turns out there was a fireworks tournament and it was India's turn to display. Utterly sensational although the promenade was like Goodison Road after a match. pic.twitter.com/SsRHaarmf1

One Blackpool resident tweeted: “Went for a stroll in Blackpool with Mrs Z last night. Turns out there was a fireworks tournament, and it was India's turn to display. Utterly sensational although the promenade was like Goodison Road after a match.”
The stunning displays, which are set to music, will take place over the beach in front of Blackpool Tower welcoming families and friends to enjoy the free entertainment.
Three countries are set to participate over three nights in the autumn with the next two competitors being Switzerland and Italy.
Swiss pyrotechnics company, SUGYP, will take centre-stage on Saturday, September 30 followed by Italy on Friday, October 20.
The final performance, by Italian fireworks company Pirotecnica Soldi, will coincide with the launch of this year’s annual Lightpool Festival in Blackpool.
All displays are subject to suitable weather conditions. The event will build-up from 7.30pm with an approximate firing time of 8.30pm for each display.
