A driver who was doing 70mph in a 30mph zone has been slapped with a fine.
Police have been patrolling along Wigan Road in Euxton this week after concerns from residents about speeding drivers.
After setting up an enforcement site, officers caught one driver doing 70mph in a 30mph zone and issued many more with speeding tickets.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We heard your concerns about speeding drivers in the area and on Tuesday we set up an enforcement check site on Wigan Road in Euxton.
"As a result we issued fixed penalties to speeding drivers, including one who was doing 70mph in the 30mph zone
"Many thanks to those residents who contacted us with their concerns – we won’t stand for people treating Lancashire’s roads like their own personal race track and anti-social driving is something we're tackling as part of Op Centurion."
