A pop group, known for creating an iconic Christmas number one, will be performing at a Rawtenstall venue this December.
East 17 will be performing their greatest hits at St Mary’s Chamber in Rawtenstall, on December 9.
The band, started in the 90s by Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey, John Hendy, and Terry Coldwell, are best known for their hit Stay Another Day, which was Christmas number one in 1994.
The group has achieved 18 top-20 singles, including It’s Alright and House of Love, and four top 10 albums.
The group sold more than 18 million albums worldwide. They performed at Glastonbury Festival in 2009 and they have toured Australia and New Zealand with Atomic Kitten, S Club 3 (now known as S Club Allstars) and Liberty X.
The group continues today with musicians Terry Coldwell, Joe Livermore and Robbie Craig.
A spokesperson for St Mary’s Chambers said they cannot wait for the performance.
They said: “We are over the moon to bring the band to Rossendale for a Christmas special, with special guest support and further details to be announced soon.
“It’s set to be a Christmas night out to be remembered so don’t delay, tickets are on sale now and selling fast.”
Since the news was announced East 17 fans have taken to social media to express their excitement.
One person said: “Everybody in the House of Love! Whoop!”
Another tagged their friend and said: “Shall we?”
Tickets cost £27.50 including a booking fee and can be purchased on ticketline.co.uk.
