A former restaurant and pub in Cliviger has gone on sale and the real estate agency in charge said it has been “inundated with offers”.
The former Nino’s Italian restaurant on Red Lees Road is on the market and Praxis Real Estate Management has been appointed as the lenders.
There is no guide price for the property but a spokesperson for Praxis said it has turned down early offers of more than £500,000.
A spokesperson said the company has been “inundated” with offers for the site, which was formerly known as the Fighting Cocks pub before opening as into a restaurant in 2012.
According to the company, interested parties have proposed turning the site into housing, retail and reopening it as a pub or restaurant.
A spokesperson said: ”We are not quoting a guide price but we have turned down early offers over £500,000.
“We have been inundated with enquiries and received more than 40 calls the day the [advertisement] went up.
“There is a wide array of interested parties, and potential uses being proposed range from new housing to retail and obviously some people have looked at reopening the pub and restaurant.
“Our objective is simply to maximise the recovery for our client, so we are also exploring submitting a planning application for change of use to maximise value.”
Plans to turn the site into a restaurant were approved in 2011.
The pub was bought from Enterprise Inns by Ignazio Pillitteri, who also opened Nino’s in Bacup Road, Rawtenstall.
The building previously housed the Ridoy Indian restaurant and bar.
